Hand-harvested, crushed, and tradi tionally vinified in small open-top fermenters. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel, then transferred to old 500L French puncheons for 8 months. This youthful, vibrant and fruit driven style presents lifted fruits of cherry and raspberry, musk, violets, with a hint of anise and nutmeg. Silky and juicy. It’s a flavoursome, light-medium bodied wine. The palate is long and consistent with integrated sandy Grenache tannins that provide for a balanced finish, and a synergy with food.
"Deep, dark red with a good purple tint, the bouquet is smoky charcuterie, dried herbs and bresaola, berry fruits are there but buried deep among the forceful tannins and savoury/barrel-derived nuances. The length is prodigious assisted by a warmth from alcohol, the concentrated flavour more than a match for it. Long and resonating. A powerful wine with masses of tannins, and very ageworthy. Rating: 95/100.Ranked #1 of 24 of 2021 Tempranillo blends from Australia. Huon Hooke. The Real Review.
