Just as Champagne is considered to be the pinnacle of sparkling in terms of quality and style, so too is Rose from France and Provence in particular. If you have only ever sampled Australian Rose, then you will be blown away by the contrasting style of Rose from France. We reckon if you're not already a convert to rose, this will be the tipping point.
Buy this 6-pack and you'll be set for Summer drinking with a bottle each of the following delivered to your door.
Château Montfin L’Etang Danse Rosé 2022
“Cherry, liquorice root, an earthy orange peel thing. It’s fleshy, good flavour, a gentle quinine tang through red cherry and peach, and that liquorice thing is there too, and I really like that flavour in a wine, a little bit creamy, light chalky grip, with a finish of good length featuring orange and Angostura bitters. Very good.” 92 points, Gary Walsh, Winefront
Jules Rosé 2023
Palest shade it’s ever been. Strawberries and cream, sea spray and Provençal herbs. Has a directness on the palate, has dropped the Redskin lolly/oiliness of some previous releases, a focused salinity is the main textural impression. Licks of citron, wild berries, and a pronounced aromatic herb bitterness. With enough familiar house style remains to please longtime fans, the personality of the 2022 is certainly of more precision and detail than previous releases.
Fazi Rose 2022
It has a generous bouquet with aromas of ripe red fruits, such as fresh strawberry, and notes of blackcurrant and violet. The palate again shows red fruit but this time with grapefruit and other citrus; there’s a touch of richness on the finish.
Marquis de Pennautier Rosé 2023
From one of the oldest wineries in the world, founded in 1620, Château de Pennautier located southern France has produced a beautifully textured and very layered rose, showing rich, ripe flavors of fleshy nectarine and delicate yummy yeasty dough notes.
Triennes Rosé 2023
This quintessential dry Rosé, it exudes the beautiful balance of fruit and minerality for which the area is so renowned.
Vignobles Gueissard Le Petit G Rosé 2022
Made with a lot of care considering its level – grapes are hand harvested and manually sorted for starters. Nailing the ‘Dry French rosé 101’ brief but with its own distinct character and personality. Guava, strawberries, mandarin and satsuma, a crunchy and fruit driven palate. The estate’s house style from the higher level cuvées shows proudly here, through guava skin, red currants, tangerine/mandarin juice and a herbal undertow. An easy, summer-in-a-bottle style.
It truly is a lovely experience drinking this dry Rose that pairs so well with fish and seafood
