Pooley has become one of Tasmania’s benchmark producers, with its family vineyards in the Coal River Valley producing some of the state’s most exciting cool-climate wines. The 2024 Syrah is a standout release, recently winning Best Wine of Show, Best Red and Best Shiraz at the 2026 Sydney Royal Wine Show. Made from 100% Syrah, it spent 10 days on skins before eight months maturation split evenly between French oak and stainless steel.
Medium-bodied, fragrant and savoury, it combines red and dark berries with spice, fennel, dark cherry and a peppery edge, supported by firm, velvety tannins and bright acidity.
