About this Wine
"A deeply coloured blend of MV6, Pommard and Dijon 115 clones. Destemmed, crushed, open-fermented, 10 days on skins, matured for 9 months in French puncheons (30% new). A rich and deep pinot, with satsuma plum the dominant player promising much for the future as spicy notes build. The tannin and oak management is spot on." 95pts - James Halliday - Wine Companion
About the Winery
"Helen's Hill Estate is named after the previous owner of the property, Helen Fraser. Venture partners Andrew and Robyn McIntosh and Roma and Allan Nalder combined childhood farming experience with more recent careers in medicine and finance to establish and manage the day-to-day operations of the estate. It produces two labels: Helen's Hill Estate and Ingram Rd, both made onsite.
Scott McCarthy started his career early by working vintages during school holidays before gaining diverse and extensive experience in the Barossa and Yarra valleys, Napa Valley, Languedoc, the Loire Valley and Marlborough. The winery, cellar door complex and elegant 140-seat restaurant command some of the best views in the valley. Exports to the Maldives, Hong Kong and China." 5 Star Winery Rating - James Halliday
