Canberra punches out some pretty amazing Shiraz these days and of course the region is no longer a one-trick pony (ie Clonakilla). Collector is a great example of a 2nd wave producer that never fails to harness the cool climate elegant power that the region is justifiably famous for.
"40% whole bunches, the remainder whole berries, open wild ferment 9 days, matured in French oak (40% new) for 14 months. Similar colour to '14 Marked Tree Red Shiraz, perhaps a touch more purple, but neither are especially deep; likewise this doesn't double the power of its sibling; it's all about finesse and length, with a progressive build-up of complexity over the journey.
