There's a fair argument to position this wine as the leading traditional-styled Australian Cabernet at or around $20. Dry, sinewy, serious. Some spicy wood and long smooth tannin. Surprisingly old-fashioned in build. I'd expect this to go close to 10yrs.
"Combines 54/34/9% merlot/cabernet sauvignon/cabernet franc and the all-important 1% glug of petit verdot. Reflecting its regional bearings brilliantly and a bargain to boot. Florals, red fruits, just a hint of raspberry confectionary and no shortage of spices either.
