Dalrymple Pinot Noir 2023

"Dense, deep colour. The Cottage Block fruit from this vintage of excellent quality. Full-bodied, but not muscular, the colour & flavour simply part of the fruit characteristics in a cool vintage with a long, slow ripening pattern. 96pts James Halliday

About this Wine

This Pinot Noir is a blend of parcels from the estate vineyards at Pipers River and Coal River Valley as well as growers at Swansea and Ouse. Each of these sites is unique with distinctive individual terroirs, building complex ity into the final wine blend.

About the Winery

A long-standing producer of quality wines in the Piper's River region. Dalrymple Vineyards was established by Bertel and Anne Sundstrup in 1987. They were visionaries, travelling to France for inspiration and guidance. Situated in the heart of the highly acclaimed Pipers River region of northeast Tasmania, the Sundstrups planted their vines on sloping hills that overlook Bass Strait.

In '10 Peter Caldwell was appointed, responsible for the vineyard, viticulture and winemaking. He brought with him 10 years' experience at Te Kairanga Wines (NZ) and two years with Josef Chromy Wines. His knowledge of pinot noir and chardonnay is comprehensive.
