Crawford River Museum Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Blackcurrant, black cherry and cedar combine with edges of black olive to present a magnificent, aged release wine. The concentrated fruit profile leans to black, rather than red fruit, with an elegant, fine palate providing integrated, highly quality French oak. There is liquorice root and baked blood plum, with the structured, fine tannin so typical of our gravel dominant soils. An age worthy pleasure. - Winemaker Note

For a wine that's 16 years old, this still has lots of life left in it, both aromatically and on the palate. Aromas of perfectly ripened cassis fruit, cedar and oyster shell notes lead onto the palate which is medium bodied with (still) chewy and persistent tannins, ensuring this will still be drinking well many years from now. 95 points - Phillip Rich (Halliday Wine Companion)
