Curly Flat has long been one of the benchmark names of Victoria’s cool-climate Macedon Ranges, and it’s great to see their Williams Crossing label back. The 2025 Chardonnay offers plenty of Curly Flat character at a more approachable price, combining bright stone fruit and orchard fruit with a savoury edge, gentle oak influence and refreshing acidity.
Campbell Mattinson rated it 93+ points, praising its “bright-but-intense fruit flavour” and noteworthy length. Peach, waxed apple and nashi pear are joined by subtle cedar, fennel and saline notes, with enough texture to give the wine real substance while keeping everything fresh and energetic.
