Founded in Seyssel in 1901, Varichon & Clerc is one of the historic sparkling-wine houses of the Savoie region, specialising in fresh, elegant French fizz. Its Cuvée Privée Charles de Saint-Céran Blanc de Blancs Brut is a non-vintage sparkling wine made from selected white grape varieties, fermented at low temperature to preserve freshness and fruit.
Pale gold with fine bubbles, it shows fresh apple and pear with delicate floral notes, followed by a lively, clean palate that is light, crisp and beautifully balanced. The wine rests on lees for three months and is finished at a restrained 8g/L dosage, keeping the style bright and refreshing. A terrific-value French sparkling for aperitif drinking, seafood or white meats.
