Scorpo 'Estate' Pinot Noir 2019

Scorpo has for some time sat comfortably within the highest rank of Australian cool-climate winegrowers, quietly composing excellent wines and steadily raising the bar year upon year. The vines are planted at an altitude of between 70 and 100m on a north- to northeast-facing slope with a 10% gradient. It’s a brilliant suntrap with ideal drainage to slowly grow and ripen grapes. They are wines which - without ever raising their voice - resonate equally with the mind and senses.

"Ripe raspberry, cherry, a fair bit spice and a subtle sweet soil earthiness, and maybe a little orange zest. It’s flavoursome, soft and plush, but keeps itself pretty fresh, and offers a fine sweep of emery tannin. Finish is long and has something of a ‘mineral’ character too. It’s a great thing to drink, and yes, you don’t notice any alcohol warmth here. Hard to imagine anyone not enjoying this." 94pts - Gary Walsh - WineFront
