Rieslingfreak No 4 Eden Valley Riesling 2026

Rieslingfreak is the specialist Riesling label of John and Belinda Hughes, devoted to exploring the variety across South Australia’s finest regions. No. 4 draws on selected vineyards throughout southern Eden Valley, combining the elegance, structure and acid drive of High Eden’s Flaxman Valley with the richer flavours and aromatics produced around Angaston and Springton.

The 2026 is intensely perfumed with fresh lime zest, passionfruit and guava, lifted by rosewater, jasmine and elderflower. Finger lime, poached quince and kiwi sorbet sit over slate-like minerality, while tightly wound acidity carries everything through a fine, crisp finish. 95 points, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front, who praised its “great sense of tension and energy.”
