As with previous releases, this wine is the opposite of what you would typically expect of an Australian Marsanne regarding harvesting dates, winemaking and style. It will certainly age well—gaining more and more honeyed characters—but it’s delicious now. Rob and Remi believe this to be their best ‘Rhône’ white thus far. Who are we to disagree? It has the same power and richness of previous releases yet with perhaps more vibrancy thanks to Harcourt’s granitic soils and climate, as well as the inclusion of some Roussanne.

"This wine comes from the ‘grower’ series of wines, from a site in Harcourt, in the Bendigo wine region. It’s pressed off and sent to barrels of varied sizes, concrete egg and WineGlobe glass fermenter. No fining or filtering. This sits at medium weight, slippery and glossy in texture, quietly concentrated with light honeyed elements in just-ripe nectarine, just-ripe peach, a tangerine element, faint vanilla cream notes and a sprinkle of cinnamon spice. It feels like the bandwidth delivers complexity, layers to flavour, appeal in the fog of sweeter fruit spectrum characters, a bit of pawpaw bitter-sweet in the mix overall too.
