if you want a low cost risk free entry to Gamay, I'm sure it does not get any better than this. Say hello to Philippe Bouchard Gamay 2020
There's a thing about great vintages - that wines from the top of the class to the most inexpensive are inevitabily good and this rings true with Philippe Bouchard Gamay 2020.
At just $19.95 from the fabulous 2020 vintage; this offers superb value for money and a great alternaive to Beaujolais
This wine is light and easy drinking - ideal for a summer’s day or simply to accompany a meal. It comes at a price that makes the nightly tipple affordable. I liked it so much I would like to order another dozen (with discount, naturally).
The relatively little known grape variety of gamay presents well in this lightly aged wine from Beaujolais. The wine has a generous fresh fruit nose, solid front palate with plenty of acid and enough tannin to promise a little more longevity. Lifted red fruit and a generous but polished length. Excellent value for a great afternoon alternative to a pinot.
This is a great quaffing wine. Easy to drink and not too heavy. Great for an afternoon of cheese and biscuits!
