"Hand-picked from the Old Block planted in '65.....it's on the full-bodied side, but the texture and structure promote the luscious (not jammy) fruit. A lovely traditional wine." 96pts - James Halliday - Wine Companion
Six generations of stubborn, competitive growers and one equally spirited winemaker- that’s the Oliver family. Living smack bang in the middle of McLaren Vale, they flourish on producing perfect parcels of fruit on their 100 hectare ‘Taranga’ property. The vineyard doesnt just supply wine grapes to Oliver’s Taranga, but many other premium wine producers in the McLaren Vale region and beyond. Don and Corrina are both proud members of the Penfolds Grange Growers club, with certain blocks of their Shiraz contributing to Australia’s iconic wine, Penfolds Grange- some of the few that can lay this claim outside of the Barossa Valley.
"Juicy, bright, vivacious expression. Spice, pretty-sweetish, jellied fruit characters, a touch of sour cherry and a good dose of alpine-botanical minty-fennel character. Lithe on the tongue, a nice, light chew of tannins, fresh feeling acidity, generally just a bright, vibrant wine style. Great drinking." 92pts - Mike Bennie - WineFront
"Bright, clear colour; a highly fragrant bouquet full of energy as red berries/ foresty nuances. The palate is wonderfully harmonious, following the path set by the bouquet. Juicy bliss." 97pts - James Halliday - The Australian
