O’Leary Walker Polish Hill River Armagh Shiraz 2024

O’Leary Walker has built an enviable reputation in the Clare Valley, with winemakers David O’Leary and Nick Walker sourcing fruit from some of the region’s most distinguished vineyard sites. Their 2024 Polish Hill River Armagh Shiraz brings together fruit from two of Clare Valley’s premier Shiraz sub-regions, producing a powerful yet refined expression of the variety.

Dark and brooding, the 2024 shows concentrated blackberry, raspberry and plum, layered with black olive, anise and subtle French oak. The palate is full-bodied and seamless, combining generous dark fruit and savoury spice with silky tannins, balanced acidity and a long, vibrant finish. The parcels were fermented separately in small open fermenters before spending 18 months in French oak, 20% new, giving the wine impressive depth and structure without overwhelming the fruit.
