More Information

Kalleske is a family owned winery and vineyard located near the village of Greenock that produces top-quality, estate grown, hand crafted and certified organic and biodynamic wines of individuality. The Kalleske family have been sustainably farming and growing grapes since 1853 and after six generations of growing grapes, winemaker and seventh generation family member, Troy Kalleske, together with his brother Tony, established the Kalleske winery.

Colour:
2020 Eduard Shiraz is thick purple black in colour.

Aroma:
The aroma is instantly powerful. Uplifting with rich dark aromatics of black fruits, cocoa and liquorice with a hint of toasty oak, along with coffee and notes of tamari.

Palate:
The full-bodied palate is deep and boundless. Dark ripe fruits dominate, together with classy oak. The natural tannin profile and structure is like a seamless mosaic, a muscular dryness with mineral edges but concurrently smooth and poised. Throughout, this wine oozes classic old vine personality with its combination of generosity and pristine balance. The length is immense, completing a charming wine.

Where this wine comes from - Barossa Valley

The Barossa Valley is Australia’s best-known wine region and there’s a good reason why. The wines certainly live up to their international reputation, particularly Barossa Shiraz. With long, warm summers, the region produces full-bodied styles with power and panache. The reds are rich and luscious in their youth with dark-berried flavours, fruit intensity and fine-grained tannins, which mature gracefully with time in the cellar. But there’s more to the region than Shiraz. Grenache and Mourvèdre do more than play a supporting role in GSM blends, they’re standing on their own two feet as single varietal wines. And with a new school of winemakers at the helm, the region is in good hands for a long and healthy future.
