Hillcrest Vineyard sits in the upper reaches of the Yarra Valley, where vines have been dry-grown since the early 1970s. The 2025 Village Pinot Noir draws on five small blocks of MV6 Pinot Noir, with vines planted between 1971 and 2003. The warm, dry and stable 2025 growing season delivered an early, compressed harvest and wines of concentration and freshness, with this Village bottling selected for its brighter, more immediately expressive style.
The fruit is hand-picked, chilled overnight and gently destemmed, with a portion of whole-bunch and stem inclusion where appropriate. After a 24-hour cold soak, fermentation uses a combination of wild and selected yeasts before 8–10 days on skins and around 10 months in 300- and 500-litre French oak, 25% new. It was an outstanding performer at the 2026 Yarra Valley Wine Show, winning Best Single Vineyard Pinot Noir, Best Pinot Noir and Best Red Wine in Show.
