More Information

Fighting Gully Road is the Beechworth project of highly regarded viticulturist and winemaker Mark Walpole, with a particular passion for Italian varieties and savoury, food-friendly wines. The 2025 Rosé combines Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon from Beechworth with Aglianico from the Alpine Valleys. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in seasoned oak puncheons and matured on lees for five months, it’s a dry, textural style with plenty of character.

Bright red and dark cherry lead the way, joined by redcurrant, wild strawberry, subtle florals and peppery spice, with lively acidity and firm, savoury phenolics keeping everything fresh. Jeni Port awarded it 93 points for Halliday Wine Companion, while Huon Hooke gave it 92 points for The Real Review, describing a savoury, intensely flavoured rosé with excellent freshness.
