Bleasdale is one of Australia’s oldest wineries, established by Frank Potts in Langhorne Creek in 1850 and still operated by descendants of the founding family. The Mulberry Tree vineyard takes its name from the ancient tree growing beside the Bremer River, where deep alluvial soils and the maritime influence of Lake Alexandrina create excellent conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2023 is elegant and vibrant, offering mixed berries, blackcurrant, woody herbs, violets and dark chocolate, supported by spicy oak and fine, supple tannins. Jane Faulkner awarded it 92 points for Halliday Wine Companion, highlighting its “vibrant and juicy fruit” alongside spice, fresh herbs and fresh acidity.
