Altera Terra is Doug Neal’s project following his work at Paradise IV, drawing on experience gained alongside Rick Kinzbrunner at Giaconda. His focus is on expressive, refined wines that reflect their vineyard origins.
The 2024 Syrah is described as medium-bodied and savoury, with dark cherry and raspberry fruit, violet perfume and dried herbs. Pepper, anise and cinnamon add complexity, while fine tannins and subtly integrated oak carry a long, composed finish.
