Ada River Reserve Heathcote Shiraz 2009

I'm sure you hear about how you should keep your wine for X amount of years before drinking it.  It will improve, it will be great they say.  Well today we prove that theory can be right.  Today we have a wine from a dream Heathcote vintage that has been just released from the winery's cellar.

Yes, today we have the 14 year old, Ada River Reserve Heathcote Shiraz 2009.
 
I should point out, this is not the older version of the lovely "standard" we advertised before Christmas.  This is the top of the range, Reserve. And let me tell you,  it's a big step up, deserving of the "reserve" label.

I don't think you'll come across another 14 year old Heathcote shiraz with so much fruit power, yet such a mellow mouthfeel.  Only age can create this.  And only in a top vintage.  And on that vintage,

Over the last 16 years, no vintage has rated higher in Heathcote than 2008 (rated 9/10 Halliday Wine Companion) and now you can enjoy this dream vintage. 

Overall, there's an irresistible velvet glove-like appeal to this wine and if you purchase a dozen, you probably have 24 months or so to enjoy this wine in this fantastic stage.   The winery has just released this as it's drinking beautifully right now.  Not many wineries ever do such releases, so take advantage while you can.
