Old Vine Eden Valley Riesling sourced from two frost pocketed vineyards dating back to 1930.
Hand picked whole bunch pressed and free run only. Natural cold settling for 12 days then racked with little solids remai ning for wild yeast ferment at low temperature for 6 weeks continuing with lees aging for 8 weeks for added texture, weight and complexity. Expect high tone aromatics of white stone fruits, white flowers & lime. The real star is the palate which reveals all of the aromatics but sears with texture, weight & persistence that finishes crisp, dry & long.
AustraliaAnswer is yes .....but Gets great write ups and is a good wine. Happy that I bought a dozen. Slightly acidic in my mind and not as great as the reviews would suggest but a nice wine nonetheless. Others from the Clair valley and Polish hill at lower price seem a better move in my mind and that’s excluding the price drop.
AustraliaThis is a big powerful number..perhaps lacks a little of the finesse of some of the Eden Valley offerings but makes up for it in spades with its steel like structure. Green gold in colour and looks so good in glass..plenty of lime and lemon here but always with the power behind. The length and finish of the wine is outstanding..so clean and crisp Interestingly it took a little time to open up but when it did you knew that you were in the presence of one of the barons of the Eden Valley
