Cool-climate chardonnay sourced from the Tamar Valley. Pale straw in the glass with a striking nose of juicy white peach, citrus and nectarine fruits underscored by dreamy, cashew-like French oak, white flowers, oatmeal, almond paste and stone. Tight, scintillating acidity provides a vital pulse and the wine finishes with impressive clarity and detail. Fans out beautifully with a textural, light-phenolic tweak and a lovely white peach, citrus and roasted nut flourish. Rating: 96 Points & Special Value Star. Dave Brookes. "Very light yellow hue; smoky oak, lees and low-level sulfide aromas combine to create a complex impression, the palate restrained and delicate yet superbly intense and multi-layered. Deep-set lemon/citrus and almost kiwi-fruit flavours. A most impressive young chardonnay, roasted hazelnuts powering the palate, which is refined and long. (Gold medal and trophy, Melbourne Royal Wine Awards 2022)." Rating: 94 Points. Huon Hooke, The Real Review
After a recent trip to dark mofo in Tasmania I fell in love with Tassie chardys, having drunk both lubianos versions I was hoping the lost farm would get me there. And it did- stunning modern approach to a Chardonnay. Loved it.
