“A taut, high-tensile East Coast riesling that’s all velocity and lip-smackingly pure lime and lemon fruits with hints of sea spray, crushed stone, lemongrass, grapefruit pith, citrus blossom and thirst-slaking good times. It’s got a wicked minerally cadence as it cuts across the palate; a touch of clover blossom in there, too, if we’re getting picky. But we’re not getting picky and this is just a delicious, focused Tassie riesling.” 96 Points & Special Value Wine Dave Brookes for Halliday’s Wine Companion
"Pale lime in the glass. Mandarin zest, nettles and chalk dust lift from the glass. Zippy and vibrant from entry, fruit sits in the riper citrus spectrum but a nettly savoury element brings balance all the while that chalky acidity drives and lifts the palate. There’s definite tension and concentration here but it remains well matched and all carries very long to the finish." Rating: 95 Points. Stuart Knox. The Real Review
The Tasmanian climate is ideal for producing fine elegant Rieslings with beautiful varietal definition. The aroma of fresh flowers with a hint of lime leap out of the glass. The elegant palate reveals rippling, juicy citrus flavours reminiscent of ripe lemons and limes combining with a crisp long taut after-taste.
While excellent drinking as a young wine it will develop slowly and beautifully over a 10 to 20 year period in good cellars at a constant cool temperature. With ageing, the wine takes up a more golden colour and develops gorgeous secondary characters of honey and toast.
