More Information

“Here is a wine that combines the power and intensity of Clare with finesse to create a stylish example of what the region does well. Fruit was sourced from the sub-regions of Polish Hill River and Armagh. Immediately strikes with dark fruits and spices, displaying blackberry, plum, dark mocha, and even a touch of black olive. The palate is deeply intense with richness and depth, yet managed with elegance. Perfectly balanced, superb value, and great cellaring potential—though beautiful now.” 96 Points. Ray Jordan

“Sourced from the Clare Valley sub-regions of Polish Hill River and Armagh, the batches are fermented separately with maturation for a year and a half in French oak, 20% of it new. An opaque maroon colour, the wine has a most evocative nose with notes of dried herbs, dark berries, plums, black cherries, kirsch and aniseed. Early complexity is evident. This is a wine of balance, finesse and yet power, quite a complete style. The satiny texture continues right through to a long and lingering finish with silky tannins. It will drink impressively for at least the next fifteen years. Great value.” 95 Points. Ken Gargett. Winepilot

"A difficult vintage to be sure but this sub-regional blend doesn’t miss a beat. The power and concentration we associate with Polish Hill River and Armagh Shiraz are well in place and, so too, the beauty. A harmony is noted whether it is in a perfume of black fruits, cassis, dark plum, toasted spice and liquorice, or on the fine-ness of expression as the wine winds its way across the tongue. Oak is a background feature, a seamless kind of quality, and tannins are generous but fine. A lovely wine." Rating: 95 Points.  Jeni Port.  Halliday Wine Companion
