John Duval 'Entity' Shiraz 2022

"Intense purple-red colour and a spicy/meaty and dried-herb bouquet, very fragrant for such a big, powerful shiraz, with dried thyme, oregano and mace notes. The palate is powerful, concentrated and the intensity driving and long. There is delicious fruit sweetness and a warming heart to this lovely wine. I don't think any winemaker comes close to John Duval.  Max Schubert taught him how to make wine, he became the 3rd winemaker to make Grange and he did that for a decade.  During that decade he made Grange famous throughout the world.  Yes, under his command, Grange became the international wine it is today.  He was named  Winemaker of the Year at the International Wine and Spirit Competition 1989, Red Winemaker of the Year at the International Wine Challenge in London in 1991 and 2000 and in 1990 Grange was named the Wine of the Year by Wine Spectator.
