More Information

One of the great 'founding fathers' of Margaret River and a long-time producer of one of Australia's greatest cabernet-based wines. Originally planted in 1969 by Picardy's Bill Pannell however the Mugford family has owned / controlled the property since 1979.

"One of the better Amy’s, this is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (72%), Merlot (11%), Petit Verdot (9%) and Malbec (8%). Maturation was for sixteen months in French oak barriques, but the use of any new oak was avoided. Purple magenta in colour, the nose exhibits notes of black cherries, smoked meats, graphite, plums, soy, cassis and blackberries. There is focus and great length here, with a line of juicy acidity and fine tannins on the finish. The wine maintains its intensity for the full journey. The deft oak handling has really allowed the fruit to shine. A wine which will easily provide pleasure for the next ten to fifteen years. Really impressive stuff. Drink now–2033." 95 Points Angus Hughson. The Vintage Journal
