Woodlands was established in Wilyabrup in 1973 by David and Heather Watson and remains family-owned, with sons Andrew and Stuart continuing their work. One of Margaret River’s pioneering estates, Woodlands now farms two vineyards spanning 28 hectares, with its original vineyard certified organic.
The warm, exceptionally dry 2024 season produced low yields and concentrated fruit. Fresh yet generously textured, this Chardonnay layers white peach, nectarine, apricot and melon with subtle sea-spray and struck-match complexity. Gentle phenolic grip and balanced acidity carry the wine through a long, mineral finish. Ray Jordan awarded it 92 points, describing it as “a precise and pure expression of Margaret River chardonnay.”
