There is one winery head and shoulders above all others in Italy. It's San Marzano from Puglia. Did you read that list of accolades below? I can tell you no other winery in Italy has a rap sheet like that and today we offer their take on Sangiovese.
From the first sip, you'll notice this is a more generous style of Sangiovese with a brilliant balance of complexity and drinkability. Place this alongside more fancied and more expensive Italian Sangiovese and this will more than hold it's own. It's a standout and fits the bill for drinkable Sangiovese to a tee.
It's medium bodied with a melody of ripe red plum and cherry flavours, there's a backbone savoury tannins which integrate superbly.
If you're after a smooth drinking, medium bodied Italian red with change from a $20 note, then this is your wine. It's rare to find an Italian wine like this for under $20, it could only come from a winery that is considered by so many to be the Italian winery of the year, year in, year out. It's a wine that you can take to a dinner party and know if will get the thumbs up.
Hands down one of the best value Italian Reds on the market. Buy with confidence.

Smooth on palate, fruity with a lovely spicy overlay - what you would expect of a Sangiovese to have with your pizza and Italian dishes
Velvet on the palette. Typical of the pugliese style Sangiovese. Very happy with it. Perhaps hold some for a little while.
