There is a definite spicy note from aromatic grapes, but it’s also more than that—a wine that recalls some of the best blends of Friuli." 95 points. Huon Hooke. The Real Review.
"This is a blend of pinot blanc, malvasia, friulano and picolit, which are all well-known grapes in Friuli, were they are often blended. The bouquet is super-complex, detailed with candied lemon peel, beeswax/honey, lemon pith and subtle toastiness, a smoky overtone from yeast lees and barrel ferment, no single component dominates. The wine is rich and round in the mouth with some viscosity, yet retaining its refinement to the end. Its textural quality is a highlight. There is a definite spicy note from aromatic grapes, but it’s also more than that—a wine that recalls some of the best blends of Friuli." 95 points. Huon Hooke. The Real Review.
"A heavy-hitting bunch of Italian white varieties (friulano/malvasia d’Istria/picolit/pinot bianco) form the basis of this impressive, golden-hued, honeysuckle-rich young white wine. Plenty of flavour, creamy texture, length and interest here in quince, ginger nut, citrus, lemon curd and toasted almond. Well composed and savoury influenced." Jeni Port. Halliday Wine Companion.
