This is one of the best Cotes du Rhone offers you'll receive all year. It's the Cellier des Dauphins Reserve Cotes du Rhone 2018. Late last year at the Decanter World Wine Awards, it received a rating of 97 Points & Platinum Medal; it received the same rating as the Rhone Best in Show winner. Today we have this wine at just $14.99!
You'll note this is the reserve version in a premium bottle, not the the standard and it proves you can have it both ways - you can have a delicious award winning red from France without emptying your wallet.
Here's what the judges at Decanter officially wrote about this Cotes du Rhone:
"This is delicious! Very classy and appealing aromas of flowers, garrigue, spice and forest floor. On the palate sweet vanilla oak marries into the charming and svelte herbal, red and blue fruit mix. It's full of flavour, super supple, super drinkable and authentic. Bouquet, taste, finish: all are magnificent. Rating: 97 Points & Platinum Medal." Decanter World Wine Awards
Wine Enthusiast Magazine also enjoyed this writing: "A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, this plump, perfumed red entices with aromas of pristine blackberry accented by fresh beet root and herb. It's densely fruity and voluminous in mouthfeel but lifted by a touch of minerality. Best now–2024"
This is an outstanding reserve Cotes du Rhone and I guarantee you this, you'll never see such a wine with such awards once again. I receive wine offers from importers every day, but it's not too often I take every single bottle available. The price screams value, especially considering it's from France, it's a reserve bottling and our Aussie dollar isn't doing all that well against the Euro. This is a one-off dead set bargain you should not ignore.
