More Information

"A supremely complete, elegant and stylish shiraz which remains totally faithful to its Barossa heritage. Opulent and exotically perfumed, its pristine aromas of spicy plum and dark berry fruit are laced with licorice and peppery undertones, while sweet chocolate oak contributes smoothness and depth. More concentrated and powerful than the 1996 vintage, its thick weight of fruit is perfectly complemented by powerful, sinewy tannins. 96 Points"  Jeremy Oliver

"It drinks like an airport novel, all guts and kisses, like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Syrupy blackberry. A soft mesh of oak. Length. Balance. Fruit integrity. A tarry earthiness that is pure Barossa. It is a very good wine, a mouth-romp. It is a wine to be lavished and enjoyed. 94 Points"  Campbell Mattinson

Where this wine comes from - Barossa Valley

The Barossa Valley is Australia’s best-known wine region and there’s a good reason why. The wines certainly live up to their international reputation, particularly Barossa Shiraz. With long, warm summers, the region produces full-bodied styles with power and panache. The reds are rich and luscious in their youth with dark-berried flavours, fruit intensity and fine-grained tannins, which mature gracefully with time in the cellar. But there’s more to the region than Shiraz. Grenache and Mourvèdre do more than play a supporting role in GSM blends, they’re standing on their own two feet as single varietal wines. And with a new school of winemakers at the helm, the region is in good hands for a long and healthy future.
