"79/21% cabernet sauvignon and shiraz; small open fermenters; wild yeast; 2-week ferment; matured for 10 months in French oak (10% new). This is all about cabernet sauvignon kicking up its heels in the Barossa Valley and making no apologies for doing so. There is an edge of authority to its expression provided by the firm tannins, shiraz ending any suggestion of excess force. Bargain on a grand scale." 94 Points. Halliday Wine Companion
"Deep and intense ruby core to a dark purple rim. Blackberry, olive, and dark slate aromas. A solid and dark core that fills the mouth without over-running. Dark slate and meaty savoury notes add character whilst a fine, yet persistent tannic framework focuses the finish. A remarkable exercise in controlled power at seriously good-value pricing." 93 Points. Stuart Knox, The Real Review. The Real Review.
"This blend of cabernet sauvignon and shiraz is made in a very accessible style and offers fresh yet hearty aromas and flavors of purple plums, blackberries and some earthy, spicy overtones. The palate is generously fleshy and very drinkable now." jamessuckling.com
Beautifully integrated, full bodied palate of rich dark fruits with hints of savouriness, finishing with lovely drying tannins. A great house red for the winter months. Order in a carton and save going out to the bottlo in the cold. Ian.
A very traditional Australian ‘Dry Red’ style. Excellent value for a classic Barossa style red blend. Highly recommended.
