$19.95
This is made by Rhone's leading producer and we think this wine is wizz bang, so much so we've made a scoop purchase and can offer this wine at Australia's cheapest price, yes we have it for $19.99 per bottle, which is about 20% off the going rate.
Although Rhône is most famous for it's reds, Côtes-du-Rhône Blanc, made from Grenache Blanc (White Grenache) has long graced the lunch and dinner tables of French families. Yes, it's the type of wine the French drink. White Grenache, has refreshing flavors of floral, citrus, herb and anise. It reminds me of a well rounded and very creamy Chardonnay.
So this is your chance to buy a fantastic white blend from one of Rhone's most prestigious estates. You struggle to see Australian producer's making such wines for less than $20 and dare I say many of those more expensive offerings from Australia won't get close to this one. Grab a few bottles, you won't be disappointed, it's a fantastic French white!
Marvelous alternative to our normal Oz Everyday drinking fare. Lovely full mouthfeel with a herby,,floral nose and palate...clean crisp finish. Hard to find better value at this price point amongst the local offerings.
Just a great quaffer all around, and so much better than Australians at the same price point.
An easy drinking wine with a good fruit roundness. Some elements of sugar on the palate, not steely dry.Well structured a good choice for a warm afternoon.
I bought the Belleruche white on Chris' recommendation and have very much enjoyed both the bottles we have consumed so far. The label doesn't tell me the grape varieties but I'm guessing there is Marsanne and Roussanne in there. There is an Australian wine, which I'm pretty sure I also bought from Chris, Rutherglen Estates, Shelley's Block, Marsanne, Viognier, Roussanne which I enjoy more. Would I buy the Belleruche again? Of course.
With shiraz, grenache and blends of the two being amongst my favourite red wines, I thought I should try a white Cote Du Rhone for a change. It was certainly interesting and tasty, but didn't really grab me, and with a new pinot gris fan in the house I might look at the Alsace rather than Rhone region for a while.
