Henty Farm Pinot Gris 2021

In 2017 the winery switched winemaking to good friend Ray Nadeson at the excellent Lethbridge Winery in Geelong. Ray, who has had a long association making wines from the amazing Henty cool climate fruit, has brought incredible texture and expression to the wines with less mainstream techniques like Foudre fermentation for the Riesling and introducing skin contact with Pinot Gris and Riesling. 

Hentyfarm wines are not rushed to market, their refined European style needing more time in the bottle to develop and soften before heading out to Australia’s best restaurants and liquor stores.

The Henty Farm Pinot Gris is a story about an amazing vineyard site in Drumborg owned and tended by ‘biological farmers’ Jack & Lois Doeven. They had a terrible time in the beginning with the planting of Pinot Gris, having to re-plant twice back in the nineties. Hentyfarm was lucky to be allocated some of this precious fruit again in 2020 . The Hentyfarm Pinot Gris style has great luscious fruit on the front palate which transforms into a clean crisp finish with the help of a splash of Riesling in the winemaking process.
