About this experience

About
The aim is to provide you with a solid foundation on which to build and develop your wine education. Once equipped with the basics you will discover that your enjoyment of drinking wine is enhanced and your learning experience at future classes or tastings is all the better for it.

During the class you will sample 1 sparkling wine, 3 white wines and 3 red wines. As we taste our way through them we will explore what wine is and those important factors that affect its overall taste – including grape varieties, the geography and climate of a vineyard and the decisions made by a winery during the winemaking process. How do these wines make us feel on a personal level? Do some excite the palate more than others?

We have a friendly environment at all our courses and welcome people of all levels of wine knowledge to each course.

Learn how to recognise the basic structure of wine and terms associated
Learn more about your own palate and what makes it respond differently
Learn a little about the history of each varietal

Meet our in-house educator- Sharon Wild

With a long history of teaching wine courses at various levels and conducting wine tastings, there is no-one in Melbourne better qualified or more fun than Sharon when it comes to wine education nights.  Sharon has written for wine trade magazines and judged on various wine tasting panels, and has engaged in Master of Wie studies (and gaining the qualification remains on her bucket list).  She is WSET Level 3 qualified, is currently studying the WSET Level 4 Diploma  and is one of a handful of people to complete the Len Evans Tutorial – ‘the most exclusive wine school in the world.  Luckily for us, her passion is education and we guarantee you a fab night at our wine courses.
