More Information

Shiraz drinkers, let me tell you, this wine is good. Adelaide Hills based Saint & Scholar Graduates Shiraz 2021 has won Best Shiraz at the Winewise Championship 2023.  I could harp on about the two big industry names - Reid Bosward and Stephen Dew -behind the brand or the value for money on offer, but I reckon Winewise said it best in their press release:

“We give the honour of leading the parade of Championship winners to the 2021 Saint & Scholar Graduates Collection Adelaide Hills Shiraz. Not only is the shiraz class the most hotly contested, the 2021 category was the best line-up of young reds we’ve ever tasted in the Championship. The floral, red fruits, spice nose is utterly captivating, and the delivery of sensory pleasure continues on the long, silky palate. Some sites in the Adelaide Hills are definitely sweet spots for shiraz, and this wine exemplifies all that’s great for region and variety. Is there a better shiraz bargain at the moment? We don’t think so.” – 5 Stars & Outstanding Winewise Championship 2023

    Drinks nicely, good VFM

Haven’t had a Shiraz from Adelaide hills before. The cooler climate shows in the lifted red fruits aspect alongside the more typical darker blackberry fruit of Shiraz. Mid weight palate that has no youthful aggression and drinks well now, although could be cellared medium term
