Some of Australia's best Chardonnay is produced in Beechworth. Name dropper alert: Giaconda, Domenica, Savaterre, Golden Ball, the list goes on. The only problem with Chardonnay from the region is the price, they're usually $50+.

With this Beechworth Estate Chardonnay 2021, you get that 100% Beechworth feeling, but without breaking the bank. This Chardonnay has had the Rolls Royce treatment. It's undergone traditional barrel fermentation and has been matured on lees for ten months. The wine is aromatically complex with notes of oatmeal, nectarine and white peach. The palate is intensely citrus with a fine textured structure that provides a great length
This is a classic Beechworth style that you can enjoy now or cellar up to 7 years. Excellent value for money given the typical prices for Chardonnay in Beechworth.
"Hand picked, whole-bunch pressed and fermented in French oak (30% new). Matured on lees for 10 months. Beechworth's signature white grape plus a quality vintage and a quality maker equals one mighty exciting chardonnay. Crackles and snaps in lively fruit flavour before settling into a long, warm and smooth palate of concentrated power. Almond, citrus, nectarine and grilled-grapefruit scents. Radiates layers of ripe fruit and nougat with a distinctively regional mineral-saline intensity that lasts long in the mouth. Oak is well integrated and acidity is clean, guiding its journey ahead. Delicious and serious." Rating: 95 Points. Jeni Port. Halliday Wine Companion.
This vineyard is coming to maturity and the Chardonnay is getting better and better. This one is a beaut while the price is still very reasonable.
Beechworth chardonnay is worth seeking out and this Beechworth Estate chardonnay is delicious and great value.
Chardonnay from Beechworth is generally good and this is outstanding for the price. Citrus fruit forward then a hint of sweetness but never cloying. Enjoyable mouthfeel with a long, lingering finish. Excellent now and should improve over time.
There seem to be two camps when it comes to chardonnay and i have to say i'm firmly in this camp. More southern Burgundy - think Pouilly Fuissé, than Chablis, it's remarkably good value
This wine is a hidden gem! Our go-to chardonnay at an amazing price!
