Deep Woods Estate Shiraz et al 2022

"Love the concept of ‘et al’. In this case, it means some Malbec and Tempranillo. There is a little whole bunch fermentation with some of the Shiraz. After fermentation, the varying parcels spent between six and nine months in French oak barrels, 15% of which were new. Put simply, a wine at this price has absolutely no business being this good, providing this much pleasure.  Dark purple/maroon, there are notes of damson plums, chocolate, coffee beans, florals and aniseed. Wonderfully aromatic, this is focused and balanced with great intensity, which is maintained for the full journey. Superb, regal even! A ten year proposition." Rating: 95.  Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot.
