About the Wine
22-year-old vines on a single vineyard block in Lobethal planted in 1998 produces well structured medium to full bodied cabernet. Maturation for 18 months in both French and American oak added vanilla and spice complexity to complete the flavour profile and produce a silky palate for your enjoyment.
About the Winery
Mike Press wines started to take shape with he planted 85 acres of grapes at an altitude of 500m in 1993. The intention was to sell the grapes to other wine producers but poor grape prices in the early 2000s convinced Mike to establish the eponyous label.
Mind you, Mike has proper form over his 40yr+ wine career including working along Max Schubert and Chief Wine Maker role at Mildara Blass. Adelaide Hills and quality budget wine have never been bedfellows, that is, until Mike Press came along.
