Tellurian Redline Shiraz 2018
Everyone, I think it's fair to say Tellurian Redline Shiraz 2018 has announced itself as this year's must have Heathcote shiraz. It's just been released, but it took out last year's two big trophies at the Heathcote Wine Show. Heathcote is Victoria's best region for shiraz; over 100 Shiraz were entered in this competition and Tellurian Redline Shiraz 2018 was named #1.
Trophy -Best Shiraz - Heathcote Wine Show 2019Trophy -Best Young Shiraz - Heathcote Wine Show 2019What I also really like about this wine is its pedigree. Tellurian are a family owned, certified organic vineyard & winery, intent on crafting solely 100% Heathcote wines. They also like to keep their prices in check, you don't need to pay $100 a bottle like some more established Heathcote producers from the region will ask you for.
We'll avoid advertising the likes of whom this wine out-performed in order to receive these awards, however we will talk about price because it's rare to see a Heathcote shiraz priced under $25. This Tellurian Redline Shiraz smashes the idea that good Heathcote shiraz needs to be expensive. At a Winewise Magazine tasting, Tellurian's more expensive Pastiche Shiraz took out the trophy, but the judges did note how good value the Redline Shiraz was saying "Not bad for an “entry level” shiraz." I contend this wine would not be the entry level option at a lot of other wineries and the 2 trophies it has adds weight to the conclusion. It's a richer style of wine, just like Heathcote is famous for and Cloudwine has a killer price of less than $20 a bottle means you can stock up. Buy a dozen and we'll deliver it anywhere in Australia freight free.
