"Amazing flavours. A highly satisfying Eden Valley riesling." TONI PATERSON MW - THE REAL REVIEW
"Powerful wild lime aromatics with spice accents. The palate is weighty, flavoursome and assertive with impressive acid drive. There is a juiciness to the palate despite it being bone-dry. Amazing flavours. A highly satisfying Eden Valley riesling." TONI PATERSON MW - THE REAL REVIEW
"This has a lifted flowery nose with fresh as well as dried floral nuances, a hint of lavender talcum powder. There really is a lovely array of aromatics here. The palate is likewise wonderfully floral, fragrant, open and accessible. An utterly delicious wine." HUON HOOKE
Where this wine comes from - Eden Valley
At an average altitude of 500 metres, think of Eden Valley as the high altitude cousin and neighbour of the Barossa Valley. The ‘high country’ drops the average temperature a couple of degrees, and with cool summer nights, the region is perfect for natural acid retention. No wonder Eden Valley Riesling performs so well and has built an international reputation for its vibrant citrus, mineral and floral aromatics in its youth, with the structure to cellar for years, particularly under screw cap. Eden Valley Shiraz performs well like Barossa Valley Shiraz, but there’s a touch more refinement here with violets, pepper and blueberry fruits. There’s elegance and finesse here, still with the fruit power and intensity you expect from the Barossa wine region.
