"When I tasted them in Frankland River earlier this year, I was blown away by the 2018 reds made by well-known WA grape-treader Rob Mann in his first vintage working with Swinney. All the wines are well worth hunting down, but I was particularly impressed with this: quite different to grenache from other parts of Australia, it has seductive aromas of vermouth, herbs and cinnamon, rich dark fruit, tannic depth and spicy length. Great wine." Max Allen - Gourment Traveller Wine
"Convincing. It’s tempting to describe this as savoury but it’s better to say that it’s not-sweet. It tastes of asphalt and dried herbs, earth and an assortment of berries, cedary oak and minor reduction adding yet more breadth It’s firm, bold, neat and more.." 93+pts - Campbell Mattinson - The Wine Front
"No surprise that the zesty/zippy Frankland River blend performs very differently to the Barossa Valley or McLaren Vale, closer to the middle/northern Rhone Valley. This is a very enjoyable mouthful of spicy red and black fruits." 94pts - James Halliday - Wine Companion
