Adam is passionate about a low intervention approach to winemaking “I guide the grapes from the vineyard to the bottle and let the grapes do all the hard work. Kinda wanted it fresh and approachable."
SubRosa, founded by Grampians born and bred winemaker Adam Louder and his partner Nancy Panter, is a micro-winery in the Grampians, Victoria, producing 400 cases/year of handmade, small batch, low intervention wines. Adam is currently 39 years old but incredibly has completed 34 harvests across the Grampians, Pyrenees, Margaret River, Bordeaux and Napa Valley.
"Natural ferment, 15 months in French oak, no fining. Good winemaking presents the attractive characters of the variety, and avoids those less so. Apricot and pear provide the fruit driven input, with some almond-like nuttiness which is probably an oak/varietal synergy. It's silky and textural but retains a feeling of crispness through the palate and finish." 94pts - Steve Creber - Wine Companion

Adam is passionate about a low intervention approach to winemaking “I guide the grapes from the vineyard to the bottle and let the grapes do all the hard work. Kinda wanted it fresh and approachable” His intuitive winemaking style focuses around minimal intervention – with little or no additions throughout the process, the grapes are handled gently, with wild ferments, no filtration or fining. Organic practices are used for all winemaking, but SubRosa is not certified organic.
