This wine displays a ruby garnet colour. It has hints of spice, orange blossom surrounded by raspberries and wild cherries. The palate is soft with layers of complexity. Cellar this wine for up to ten years.
The fruit for this wine was derived from cuttings of grandfather’s original family vineyard [Boccalupo] in Tuscany. This is an Autochthonous variety specific to the Stefani family. Fruit is entirely grown and hand-picked on the family estate vineyard in the Yarra Valley, Victoria.
Each ferment was hand plunged and macerated for 4 weeks to achieve a gentle tannin extraction before pressing into barrels. The wine was matured for twelve months in French oak barriques. Twenty percent of new wood was used to allow the expression of the concentrated fruit characters.
