Sons Of Eden Marschall Shiraz 2017

''This has good linearity and drive, carrying to an elegant, softly rich finish. Elegantly proportioned and refined, but rich Shiraz with blackberry fruit, black pepper and plums with fine tannin extract and linearity.'' 18/20, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews

More Information

"Dark, deep, impenetrable black-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is softly presented with very refined and elegant aromas of ripe blackberry fruit along with sweet black pepper and a hint of eucalyptus, and gentle notes of plums, liquorice and spices. The aromatics are harmoniously interwoven. Full-bodied, the palate has a deep and intense heart with a taut core, showing softly sweet flavours of blackberry fruit with black pepper and subtle notes of plums and herbs. The palate is elegantly proportioned with plenty of fine-grained tannin extraction underlining the flavours. This has good linearity and drive, carrying to an elegant, softly rich finish. This is an elegantly proportioned and refined, but rich Shiraz with blackberry fruit, black pepper and plums with fine tannin extract and linearity.'' 18/20, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews.

Where this wine comes from - Barossa Valley

The Barossa Valley is Australia’s best-known wine region and there’s a good reason why. The wines certainly live up to their international reputation, particularly Barossa Shiraz. With long, warm summers, the region produces full-bodied styles with power and panache. The reds are rich and luscious in their youth with dark-berried flavours, fruit intensity and fine-grained tannins, which mature gracefully with time in the cellar. But there’s more to the region than Shiraz. Grenache and Mourvèdre do more than play a supporting role in GSM blends, they’re standing on their own two feet as single varietal wines. And with a new school of winemakers at the helm, the region is in good hands for a long and healthy future.
