97 Points & Top 100 Wines of 2018 James Halliday
Winery of the Year – 2018 Halliday Wine Companion Awards
“Vines planted ’72, hand-picked and sorted in the vineyard, 70% whole berry/30% whole bunches, wild yeast open ferment, 23 days on skins, matured in French oak (30% new) for 10 months. A meltingly beautiful pinot reflecting the vintage and vineyard inputs. Right from the outset, it offers a spray of red flowers and spices (bouquet), and red fruits plus spices and a spider web of ultra-fine tannins (palate). This is an exercise in the purity of pinot noir at a high level, perfect to drink tonight or in a decade hence.” – 97 Points & Top 100 Wines of 2018 James Halliday.
The Estate range is made using a combination of old vines planted in 1972 and younger vines planted in 1996. All fruits are handpicked and sorted in the vineyard to preserve the best fruit quality. The results speak for themselves with a 97 point rating from James Halliday.
