"This label delivers some of the keenest cabernet value in the land, and the 2017 is among the best yet. Blackberry and tobacco aromas, with some tarry, inky bass notes. It’s bright, clean and varietal yet fully ripe, with charm and complexity. Medium to full-bodied and elegant, with smooth tannins. Score: 94" Ranked: #1 of 36 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon from South Australia. Awarded: Top Rank & Top Value." Huon Hooke
"A maritime cabernet. Full and transparent across a bead of regional salinity; convincingly varietal, too, across the graphite, currant and bay leaf notes. Best of all, though, are the tannins: compact and nourishing. Not overworked and hard. This is long and polished. A good drink to be aged with confidence and without unduly damaging your bank balance. 95 points." Ned Goodwin. Halliday Wine Companion.
"Emerging as one of the best-value cabernets on the market (very varietal but properly ripe and elegant) this one has blackberry and tobacco aromas with some inky, tarry bass notes and a bright, medium- to full-bodied palate, with balanced tannins." 94 Points. 100 BEST New Release Australian Wines for June/July 2019/20, Gourmet Traveller WINE.
"Generous McLaren Vale cabernet that opens with inviting dark fruit, briar, tar and toasty notes. The palate is plush yet fine, with good depth, easy texture and great balance. A friendly wine of real class. Screw cap; 14.5 per cent alcohol." Ralph Kyte-Powell
