"Cool grown shiraz doesn't come better than this." James Halliday

50% whole berries, 40% destemmed and crushed, 10% whole bunches with lignified stems selected by Doug Neal, 5 days cold soak, wild-fermented for 9 days, hand-plunged, matured in French oak (20% new). Doug Neal has made the most of the '15 vintage, producing what he believes to be the best yet, never to be challenged in the future. It has a brilliant crimson-purple hue, and an exceptionally juicy flavour that centres on the tip of the tongue (very unusual) before moving in a more textured form on the back-palate and finish. Cool grown shiraz doesn't come better than this. Rating:97 Drink By:2035 James Halliday

“One of the finest shirazes yet made in Australia, this is a landmark cool climate wine. Wild, musky and faintly meaty aromas of deep, lustrous black, blue and red berries lifted by profound floral scents reveal nuances of cedar and animal hide. Medium-bodied, it’s densely packed with pastille-like flavours of cassis, blackberries and dark plums, extending smooth and velvety down a tight-grained and slatey spine, building intensity towards a long, seamless finish of mineral and savoury qualities. Extraordinary.”  98 Points Jeremy Oliver
